Coaching vs Therapy

Coaching vs Therapy

Hi! I am going to explain to you the difference between coaching in therapy. What I do versus what others do!

Therapy is usually a talking experience. A person comes into an office and speaks to a professional. The client has some type of behavioral issue, thought disorder, mood disorder, personality disorder, or unable to get over a terrible experience. Issues range on a spectrum from mild to severe.

The professional searches for potential reasons causing the problem. There are different types of therapies. Sometimes medication is prescribed.

I am not licensed to diagnose or treat mental illnesses. What I offer is life coaching.

The problems that I see in today’s world with psychology is over-diagnosing, mislabeling, and over-prescribing. A lot of people have troubles in life. It does not mean you have an actual mental illness, but it does mean you need guidance.

A lot of people are “mixed” - part of them is good, part of them is bad, sometimes it has nothing to do with good or bad, it just is what it is, and it’s hard. Part of the time it’s fine, and part of the time it’s not fine. What I do with coaching is more like teaching… to allow yourself to work through your own problems.

Here’s the deal…most people would rather take a short cut - grab a pill, be diagnosed, and be told what to do. Even if the diagnosis is wrong. Even if the pill has a side effect.

On the other hand, people cannot see their own problems on their own and need to ask for help, but they don’t want to. Sometimes people need traditional therapy or medication, but don’t want to work on themselves or do not want to be told what to do.

For the majority of people, they get some relief from therapy or medication, but it does not REALLY solve their problem. There’s still something bothering them. Their relationship did not get completely better. They’re still facing problems! It’s just not the right solution or the complete solution.

I will teach you how to do the work in an easier way. I teach how to recognize and compartmentalize feelings or annoyances, not just “feel” feelings. I will not try to connect your experiences to family history or biology, although it could be true, it might be misleading.

I will teach you mind over matter. See the benefit of acknowledging your blind spots. How to forgive. Remove judgement. Communicate better. Open your mind to new possibilities. Manage  stress. Connect to energy within you.

My whole purpose is to guide you to your own internal guide, your higher self, and naturally find answers for yourself.

See for yourself where did you go wrong? What are you willing to do to work on? How can you move on when things are not possible to fix?

The answer to the last one is ONLY spirituality. No psychologist, no official, no religion can help you. But your own soul can help you.

My recommendations must be taken for what they are.

I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I am a certified Qi Gong teacher. I have read many books, and studied for 10 years on my own to help people manage life better with a mixture of psychology, spirituality, specifically Doaism, and life experience. I teach gentle breath work and movements, not intense breath work or stretching.

I am not a therapist who can diagnose or treat mental health disorders. I do not recommend extensively deep and empty meditations, where you travel to an abyss. No past life regressions, no crystal balls, no spells, no magic. Be very aware of the addictive and psychedelic nature of marijuana.

A truly balanced life is the best life.

You can definitely use my guidance as 1 resource of many! Easy to combine with therapy, religion, or use it completely separately. It’s up to you.
